Fisher-Price Musical Ferris Wheel

At the 2014 Fisher-Price Collectors Club Convention I found this Musical Ferris Wheel. The characters were mint in their wrapping from the factory, and it came with the original box! I had been wanting this one for a while, but I had not found one in good condition.  On our way to the convention we saw a rough one in a thrift store and they wanted a lot of money for it. I'm glad we waited because we found this nice one, in better shape and in it's box for a good price.

The #969 Musical Ferris Wheel was made from 1966-1972.  The one we got has straight sided figures, and the girl does not have plastic hair.  The doggie is an early figure and not the usual Lucky dog.  The newer versions have plastic figures but mine has wood figures. It is one of the oldest toys in my collection, I also have a Circus and a Huffy Puffy Train that maybe are older.
It has a price tag on it from Sears back when it was new it sold for $4.49!

Fisher Price Collectors Club Convention 2014!

With Buzzy Bee "Toy Fest Parade Float"

Here I am in front of Fisher Price headquarters in East Aurora, NY.  They had old parade floats on display and I got to take pictures with them while I was there for this years toy convention.

This year at the toy show they had 10 vendors. I bought pieces to complete my A-Frame set, Herry Monster to complete my Sesame Street figures, an adventure people robot, a guide book to Fisher Price toys, a Children's Hospital, and a Ferris Wheel in the box with the little people still shrink wrapped from the factory!

It's always nice to see all the club members, this was the fourth year in a row I have been to East Aurora. Fisher Price Collectors Club Convention 2014 was great!  It was a good year!

Moving right along...

It's been a year since our last post :-( but we are back :-) In the last year we went on our yearly trip to the Fisher Price Collectors Club Convention in East Aurora, NY, and then we moved from living near Washington, DC in Virginia to Charlotte, North Carolina.

Loaded up and ready to move to Charlotte, NC

Here you can see my Play Family Pop-Up Camper all loaded up for our move. I got it at the Collectors Convention in 2012.

At this years convention I got the Play Family Village, the Nursery School and lots of other goodies, it was a great convention.  I've been to 3 conventions now, and I want to keep going to them for the rest of my life. The dealers room is amazing, with toys of all ages.  It is so exciting to see so many Fisher Price Toys in one place.

2013-East Aurora Welcome Sign
When we are in East Aurora we always make a trip to Fisher Price Headquarters.  I like to imagine what it was like to design and make all the great toys there, how I wish I could have been one of the local kids to try out the new toys.  When I grow up I want to be a toy designer.

Weekend at Lake Little People...

We went to East Aurora, New York on July 27 and July 28 for the 2012 Fisher Price Collector's Club Convention. Here are some of the finds I got at this year's convention. I got a Pop-Up camper set, and a swimming pool set. At last year's convention I got the marina. My Daddy found the A-Frame on ebay, and the Happy Houseboat at a thrift store. I really wanted a Pop-up camper. It has a Jeep with a boat on the roof, a storage case for the furniture that goes on top of the camper. The camper has a kitchen and a table set- and two bed shelves. It is so much fun! We made the scenery from craft supplies, blue poster board for our lake, and green and brown construction paper for our trees. Our sky is a blue blanket and the meadow is a green blanket. On the first day of the convention we went to the Fisher-Price Headquarters and the company Toy Store, after that we went to the dinner. The next day there was a Toy Sale where I bought lots of sets, people, and pieces. I can't wait for next years show. Please join the Fisher Price Collector's Club. UPDATE: Today we found a Play Family Camper & a Castle Dragon! So we added a picture of our new finds enjoying a weekend at the lake.

Fisher-Price Headquarters

When we went to East Aurora for the convention we went to the Fisher-Price Headquarters, which was fun and very intriguing, although we couldnt go in except for the toy store. At the store they had all new toys but they did have some left over "chunky" little people. I bought a souvenir cup and a key chain. I liked the street corner of Fisher-Price Street and Little People Lane, and the sign of the pull toy doggie. There was a beautiful fountain with a statue of a little boy. I put my new F-P toy boats in the fountain. The big F-P was really cool and looked like it was made out of rubies and jewels. After we saw the factory we went to the dinner where they gave me my castle! You can see that in another post. I might like to work there some day although it would have been more fun to work there in the old days when they made the original toys.

2011 Fisher Price Convention Talk

There was a talk on a classic shoe music box by a nice member named Ted. I got to put the parts together. It was fun when I did because I figured out how the toys were hand made.
I thought the whole day was great, seeing the toys having a good dinner and the people were so nice. When I got home I set up my toys around my new Castle and all the goodies I brought back from the show!

More on the 2011 Fisher Price Collectors Club Convention

The dinner was great- it was meat, potatoes, carrots & green beans and cake that was so delicious. The club gave me a pin &members gave me a Castle and a Lift & load set!

2011 Fisher-Price Collectors Club Convention

Hello again, I have a bunch of new things to share! This year I joined the Fisher-Price Collectors Club. On Saturday July 30 we went to the toy convention in East Aurora, NY. East Aurora is the home of Little People & the Fisher-Price Toy Company, and the home of the collectors club toy show & convention.
At the convention we looked around first and then bought toys. The club members were very very nice to me, and they gave me great fun toys , cute pull toys & little people playsets. Thank you to the collectors!
We found a lot of pieces to the Sesame Street set that we will share in another post and we found a marina with boats and other accesories. It is fun collecting all the parts and putting them together and the collectors club is a great place to find pieces and buildings. They even had a hospital.
